TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) --The old Capitol has gone purple for Alzheimer's Awareness, and now it's your turn!

This weekend marks the annual Purple Craze fundraiser to support the Alzheimer's Project.

It's a night of live music from Jazz Copeland, auctions, dinner and dancing.. and of course the Purple Craze costume contest.

Organizers say, "Purple craze is a fun, over-the-top purple extravaganza to celebrate life, love, and the work of Alzheimer's Project, Inc. in Tallahassee and the Big Bend."

All the money raised goes back to the group's mission of offering relief and support to local caregivers.

"Alzheimer's Project strives to keep caregivers healthier, both physically and emotionally, and to prolong their ability to care for their loved ones at home for longer."

Purple Craze is Saturday, January 30 starting at 7 p.m. at The Moon (1105 E. Lafayette Street).

Tickets are $25 per person or $45 for couples.

Again this year, WTXL ABC 27 Chief Meteorologist Casanova Nurse is the emcee of the event.
