TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - Opening Nights at Florida State University will present comedian Brian Regan — "the funniest standup alive" — on October 1.

His appearance at 7:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 1, at Ruby Diamond Concert Hall, will be the Miami native's first appearance on the Opening Nights' roster.

Regan uses observational, sarcastic and self-deprecating humor. He has distinguished himself in the comedy world through his clean performances, refraining from profanity and off-color humor.

"While he does tour, the stops are typically in major cities due to the demands on his time and the requests for public performances," said Michael Blachly, director of Opening Nights. "From that vantage point, it’s nice to be able to bring a ‘big city offering’ to the Leon County audience.”

Called “the funniest stand-up alive” by Vanity Fair, Regan made history with his special "Brian Regan, Live from Radio City Music Hall" — the first live broadcast of a stand-up special in Comedy Central’s history.

He is a regular on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and was a regular guest on The Late Show with David Letterman.

Tickets start at $25. Tickets for students under 18 and those at FSU, Florida A&M University and Tallahassee Community College are 50 percent off regular ticket prices.

Tickets are available at OpeningNights.FSU.edu or by calling FSU’s Tickets Office at (850) 644-6500
