TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) — Florida A&M University Athletics is searching for a new women's basketball head coach, as Kevin Lynum will not return.

The announcement was made by FAMU Vice President & Director of Athletics, Kortne Gosha.

"We thank Kevin and his staff for their hard work and wish them well in all of their future endeavors," said Gosha.

Lynum moved into the head coach position last summer after being named interim head coach last February when LeDawn Gibson was fired.

The Lady Rattlers finished 6-21 this season, and assistant coach Angelica Bermudez has also been let go.

FAMU Athletics say they will begin a search immediately.
