MIDWAY, Fl. (WTXL) -- — A HEAT ADVISORY is in effect for many of our local counties today. As temperatures are expected to reach the mid to upper 90s across the area, high humidity will make it feel as hot as 106-110 degrees in many spots.
This kind of heat increases the likelihood of heat illnesses, such as heat exhaustion and heat stroke. Drink plenty of water, and limit sun exposure today. If you have to be outdoors, try to take frequent breaks inside a well air-conditioned room to cool down from the intense heat. If you can, you should reschedule tasks that are strenuous such as outdoor chores or exercise for earlier in the morning or later in the evening, when conditions cool down a bit.
