COLORADO SPRINGS, Co. (CNN) -- Fall means the return of pumpkin-flavored everything -- maybe thanks, in part, to Starbucks.
The coffee chain introduced the pumpkin spice latte about a decade ago.
Since then, pumpkin sales have sky-rocketed and demand for pumpkin-flavored items keeps going up.
In the latest five years alone, the U.S. Department of Agriculture says pumpkin sales have risen 34 percent.
Sales for pumpkin-flavored foods and beverages increased 14 percent just last year.
