Two Arrested in Tifton Armed Robbery

TIFTON, GA. (WTXL)- Two Tifton men are behind bars after a July 20th armed robbery that occurred near Olde Times restaurant in Tifton. 

Tifton Police arrested Hakeem G. Bateman, 25, on August 4, 2015 without incident and  Jonathan L. Bellamy, 22, in Atlanta on August 12th.

According to Lt. Lee Dustin with the Tifton Police Department, the victim says he drove his vehicle down the alley by Olde Times, when a black male stepped out in front of his vehicle.

He told investigators, he let down his window to speak to the man and another black male came out of the bushes and pointed a gun at him.  The men then robbed him of his cell phone, cash and his GPS unit.

A witness saw the men get into a car nearby and gave a description to the responding officers.

Detectives J. Teter and B. Jones worked the case, interviewing witnesses and the victim. Their investigation led to the two arrests.
