TALLAHASSEE, Fla. -- The Tallahassee Fire Department is looking to collect small, stuffed animals during an event hosted in part by Advance Auto Parts Monster Jam.
Stuff the Truck, a collection drive for stuffed animals, will take place Friday, February 22, from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m at the Tallahassee-Leon County Civic Center. Monster Jam will provide two tickets per household to their Friday night show with each donation, no matter how many animals are donated.
Fire officials say the Tallahassee Fire Department responds to over 20,000 incidents annually. A large number of those emergency calls have an emotional impact on a child, so the fire department has a tradition of cheering them up with stuffed animals. Firefighters keep the stuffed animals on all of the fire trucks stationed throughout the City of Tallahassee and Leon County.
In addition to the toy drive, Advance Auto Parts Monster Jam will have on site at the TLCCC Monster Truck BACKDRAFT and the driver for a meet and greet and photo opportunity
If you're thinking about donating, officials ask you to leave let the tags remain on the toys. Donations will be accepted at the box office all the way until the Friday evening Monster Jam show at 7 p.m.
