BOSTON, Mass. (BOUNCE) – Many Tallahassee natives breathing a sigh of relief tonight as they learn their loved ones are safe. Among those relieved are family and friends of Alan Cox, a Tallahassee citizen.

Explosions rocked the Boston Marathon Monday afternoon as runners were still crossing the finish line. More than 100 people have been injured and three people have been confirmed dead. Among the dead is an 8-year-old child.

Cox was running in the race and had just made it through the finish line when the explosions occurred. Cox told us, “thousands of mommas and baby strollers and kids were watching their dad and mom run this race, and it’s just a shame that something like this had to happen.”

President Barack Obama spoke about the bombings saying, “we will find out who did this and we will hold them accountable.”
