TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL)-- A Tallahassee man is in serious condition after a train collides into his truck.
Florida Highway Patrol responded to a collision between a 2009 Mack truck and a train Friday around 1 p.m. The driver of the truck, 57-year-old Jerry Jones, was traveling west on Road to the Lake Road when his vehicle stopped on the track for unknown reasons.
The train which was hauling 82 cargo cars was unable to stop before hitting the front left side of the truck.
The impact caused the truck to spin around causing it to hit a post containing fiber-optic cables.
Jones was taken to the Tallahassee Memorial Hospital and has been listed in serious condition.
