Wendy Lewis is on a mission and for her diversity is first.
Lewis is the Senior Vice-President for Diversity and Strategic Alliances for Major League Baseball.
"Ensuring diversity both on the field and in the front office is something that we work to achieve", she said.
Just days ago Baseball Commissioner Bud Selig created an On-Field Diversity Task Force to address the talent pipeline.
"I am proud of the work we have done thus far with the RBI program and the MLB Urban Youth Academies, but there is more that we must accomplish. We have seen a number of successful efforts with existing MLB task forces, and I believe we have selected the right people to effectively address the many factors associated with diversity in baseball", said Selig.
In fact MLB is working with the Houston Astros to Co-Host the 2nd Annual Diversity Employment and Business Opportunity Career and Trade Fair. The event will bring together executives from all 30 MLB Clubs Media Entities and the MLB Network.
