LEON CO., Fla. -- A woman who may have been kidnapped was found unharmed in Madison County, according to the Leon County Sheriff's Office.
Deputies discovered the woman, 25-year-old Katisha Williams, was missing on Tuesday, July 9. A woman called the department around 10:30 a.m.; she told deputies Williams called her and said she'd been abducted and didn't know where she was.
During the investigation, deputies discovered that Williams told a friend that she met two men, and all three returned to her home. When deputies went to Williams' home to check on her, they discovered the front door was ajar. In addition, detectives say there was evidence of a struggle inside the home.
Detectives began searching Williams' home for more evidence and talking with people close to her, including her neighbors, family members, friends, and other witnesses.
From their investigation, they discovered that Williams had recently been involved in an argument with her ex-boyfriend over his new girlfriend.Though the link between this and Williams' possible kidnapping is unreleased at this time, detectives discovered a fact that helped them find Williams -- she has family in Madison County.
With help from the Madison County Sheriff's Office, officials located Williams late Tuesday evening. She was reportedly uninjured and transported to a facility for undisclosed treatment.
