JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) - Funeral plans for an 8-year-old Jacksonville girl who was abducted and slain are on hold until an autopsy is completed.

Victim advocate Ann Dugger of the Justice Coalition told The Florida Times-Union she hopes to get more information on Tuesday.

Cherish Perrywinkle was abducted Friday night after her mother let her go into a McDonald's inside a Jacksonville Walmart with 56-year-old Donald James Smith. Police say Reyne Perrywinkle met Smith earlier that evening and he offered to buy them food and clothing.

Authorities found the girl's body on Saturday. Smith was arrested and charged with kidnapping and murder. He's being held in jail.

Cherish had been planning to fly to California on Saturday to visit her father, Billy Jarreau.

On Monday, Jarreau released a statement thanking police.
