ATLANTA (AP) - Atlanta police say a woman was killed in a shootout at an apartment complex.
Local news media report it happened early Thursday at the Deerfield Gardens apartments in southwest Atlanta.
Investigators say the woman and two men were meeting someone at the complex when someone opened fire on the vehicle they were riding in. Police spokesman Lt. Charles Hampton says there was an exchange of gunfire.
Hampton says the victim was shot at least once. Arriving officers discovered her dead in the back seat of the SUV. The two men with her were not hurt.
It's unclear what led to the shooting. No arrests have been made.
Police have not released the woman's identity.
