Tropical Weather-Pacific for Saturday, February 16, 2019

—————

Eastern Pacific:

There is no Eastern Pacific tropical discussion at this time.

Western Pacific:

Watching a disturbance near the Marshall Islands

As of Friday evening, EST, there are no active tropical cyclones in the western North Pacific basin, and none are forecast to develop for at least the next 24 to 48 hours.

We are watching an area of disturbed weather in the vicinity of the Marshall Islands that will be moving westward over the weekend and early next week. As this developing low pressure system moves

into a favorable environment for strengthening, we expect it to become a named tropical system as early as Tuesday. If this system does develop as expected, it will be named "Wutip." There is the

risk that this feature will bring impacts on Guam and the Northern Mariana Islands next weekend.

Southern Pacific:

No new information for this time period.
