The Nation's Weather for Friday, February 1, 2019
—————
NATIONAL SUMMARY
While the harshest conditions endured during the polar
vortex invasion will be over, cold weather will still hold
across the Great Lakes and Northeast today. That will set
the stage for a system to sweep nuisance snow across the
mid-Atlantic. There can be a bit of a wintry mix around
Kentucky as rain falls on areas back to northern Arkansas.
Meanwhile, the Ohio Valley and central Plains will welcome a
noticeable rebound in temperatures. Drizzle will dampen
parts of the southern Plains, while showers dot the Gulf
Coast and Florida Peninsula. Otherwise, dry and milder
weather will dominate the South. Dry weather will once again
dominate the Rockies as a storm returns rain and mountain
snow to the Northwest and the Northern and Central parts of
California.
