NATIONAL SUMMARY
A major warmup will commence over the central and eastern
United States today. The warmup will be slow at first over
the Northeast and Upper Midwest. Some snow is forecast for
northern New England, while areas of rain, fog and ice are
in store for the Great Lakes region. A swath of clouds and
spotty rain is projected to extend from Texas to Florida.
Most areas from southern new England and the mid-Atlantic to
the Tennessee Valley can expect at least partial sunshine.
As warmth builds along the Rockies and High Plains, a major
storm is forecast to push inland from the Pacific Ocean.
Heavy rain, flooding, mudslides and feet of mountain snow
are anticipated in California with areas of significant rain
and mountain snow in Oregon, Nevada, Idaho and Utah. Strong
winds will buffet the California coast.
