DELRAY BEACH, Fla. (AP) - Authorities say they've arrested a woman wanted in connection with a fatal crash that killed one Florida police officer and critically injured another.
Media outlets report Key West Police Department spokeswoman Alyson Crean says 32-year-old Lacy Morris was arrested Tuesday. Morris is charged with multiple offenses, including DUI manslaughter, in the death of Delray Beach Officer Christine Braswell.
Crean says Braswell and Officer Bernenda Marc were riding a motor scooter together, while on vacation, when they were struck by a vehicle April 8.
According to a police report, officers suspect Morris may have been intoxicated, describing a faint odor of alcohol and bloodshot eyes. Morris refused a sobriety test at the scene.
Morris' attorney Evan Hoffman says his client will contest the charges.
