PENSACOLA, Fla. (AP) - Police say they arrested a Florida high school student who says he took a gun from a friend who planned to commit suicide and then brought it back to school a few days later.
A Pensacola police report says that a Washington High School student told authorities that a classmate said he was planning to kill himself during lunch last week. She said a 16-year-old student then took the gun away from the teen.
The Pensacola News Journal reports the 16-year-old told police he took the gun and brought it back to school to return to the student on Tuesday. Police found the gun and arrested him for possession of a gun on school property.
The student who brought the gun was taken to a hospital for a mental health evaluation.
