NAPLES, Fla. (AP) - Authorities in southwest Florida have identified a 5-year-old girl who died after her father ran her over with a backhoe.

The Naples Daily News quotes a Collier County Sheriff's Office report (http://bit.ly/29Ak1Mu ) that identifies the child as Scarlett Sponseller.

According to the report, Scarlett and her father were moving debris with the backhoe at their Golden Gate Estates home on Saturday.

The report says that as Scarlett sat on part of the backhoe on Andrew Sponseller's left side, he began backing it up while looking over his right shoulder.

According to the report, Sponseller stopped when he didn't see Scarlett in the cab area.

The report says Sponseller jumped from the backhoe when he saw Scarlett had been run over by a back tire.

The sheriff's office is still investigating.
