JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) - The search for a missing Florida toddler has turned up two unrelated sets of human remains, but no sign of the boy.
The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office says a man's remains and clothing were found Monday near a business park. They had apparently been there at least a year. Foul play wasn't suspected.
On Tuesday, searchers found a car linked to a 2003 missing-persons case at the bottom of a pond. Skeletal remains appeared to be inside.
The Florida Times-Union reports the bodies were found while some 200 law enforcement officers looked for 21-month-old Lonzie Barton who went missing Thursday night in Jacksonville. The boyfriend of the boy's mother has been charged with child neglect.
Meanwhile, authorities have also halted the pickup of commercial garbage in some areas.
