SAVANNAH, Ga. (AP) - Authorities say the Labor Day weekend in Savannah was a bloody one, as there were eight shootings from Saturday to Monday. Police say two people were killed by the gunfire.
Savannah-Chatham police spokeswoman Eunicia Baker said the early investigation shows that most of the weekend shootings were not random crimes, and that several involved acquaintances.
Killed in the shootings was 35-year-old Troy Antwan Black, whose body was found at a residence on Saturday night.
The Savannah Morning News reports (http://bit.ly/2bUMoTU) that another man shot on Monday afternoon also died, which is the city's 39th homicide in 2016.
Police say a 16-year-old boy and a 17-year-old boy were among the wounded; they were injured in separate shootings.
