SUNRISE, Fla. (AP) - A Wal-Mart employee in Sunrise has fatally shot a man who attempted to rob him.
The SunSentinel (http://bit.ly/2coZU04 ) reports that the incident occurred early Wednesday in the parking out outside the store.
The employee, who went to his car, was approached by an unidentified man armed with a handgun. Following an exchange of words between the two, the employee pulled out a weapon a fired multiple shots, killing the suspect.
Sunrise Police Department spokesman Chris Piper says the employee shot the man in self-defense. He says the employee has a permit to carry a concealed weapon.
The incident remains under investigation.
