MIAMI (AP) - Authorities in Miami are investigating after a suspect was caught on camera stealing two assault rifles from a parked car.
Miami police spokeswoman Kenia Fallat says in a statement that the incident happened Sunday afternoon after the suspect made his way into the parking garage of a downtown condominium building.
Fallat says the suspect was captured on surveillance video opening the door of a 2016 Black Mercedes Benz E 400, where he ransacked the inside.
She says the suspect then opened the trunk of the vehicle, where he found the two weapons and placed them in a book bag before taking off.
Investigators say the suspect was wearing an orange shirt, camouflage shorts and a black hat.
They believe he may be responsible for other car break-ins in the area.
