MIAMI, FL. (AP) - Miami police are looking for a taxicab driver who fatally struck a pedestrian in front of Bayside Marketplace and then drove away.
Miami police say officers responded to the popular downtown shopping and dining area around 1:35 a.m. Thursday and found the victim in the middle of Biscayne Boulevard. He was later pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities say the victim was crossing the street when a Yellow Cab taxi hit him and continued on without stopping. Police were able to learn the taxi number and license plate number. They located the vehicle later Thursday about 8 miles north on Biscayne Boulevard.
No arrests have been reported.
Police weren't immediately identifying the victim.
