NEWNAN, Ga. (AP) - Police say that when a driver turned on his police-style blue flashing lights to get another car out of his way, he chose poorly: the other motorist was a real officer on his way to work.

Coweta County sheriff's Lt. John Kennedy says the East Point police officer was driving to work on Interstate 85 Saturday night when the driver behind him turned on the lights, so he moved over one lane but grew suspicious and followed the other car.

Kennedy says that's when 21-year-old Deion Laquon Colliers pointed a handgun out the window toward the officer's car.

Kennedy says both cars eventually stopped, with Colliers and the real officer both getting out with their guns drawn.

He said Colliers was arrested and charged with impersonating police, among other charges.

It wasn't known whether Colliers has an attorney.
