JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) - Three young men are under arrest in connection with the fatal shooting of a Jacksonville cabdriver after police say they called for the taxi in a planned armed robbery.
Jacksonville Sheriff's Office Lt. Steve Gallaher says alleged shooter 18-year-old Deron Brown turned himself into authorities in South Florida.
Also arrested were two teens, ages 15 and 17, who Gallaher says were involved in planning the Jan. 30 armed robbery of 62-year-old Melvin Wright.
Gallaher says investigators linked the phone number that called the taxi company dispatch to the 15-year-old suspect, and information from witnesses about the shooting.
All three suspects, who Gallaher says lived together at a Jacksonville youth home, were held on suspicion of murder and armed robbery.
It was unclear if they have hired attorneys.
