CANTON, Ga. (AP) - Police in the north Georgia city of Canton say two people have been stabbed to death at an apartment complex.
Canton police said in a statement that a man and woman were found around 1:30 a.m. Friday lying in a third-floor breezeway at the Laurels at Greenwood.
Police say one suspect has been taken into custody in what they describe as a double homicide.
Police said officers were responding to an assault call when they found the victims. They said the man was dead at the scene; the woman was taken to a hospital and pronounced dead.
Police say they're working with the Georgia Bureau of Investigation on the case. They said the victims would be taken to the GBI Medical Examiner's Office for autopsies.
Canton is about 40 miles north of Atlanta.
