JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) - A Jacksonville officer's truck that was stolen following a break-in at his home has been recovered, but his dog remains missing.
News agencies report an officer with Jacksonville Sheriff's Office discovered his Murray Hill home had been broken into after coming from work Tuesday morning.
His 8-year-old pit bull named Hemingway, his pickup truck, two guns and some jewelry were gone. The stolen truck was spotted leaving an apartment complex Tuesday night.
A police chase ensued and officers say the driver hit a police cruiser then crashed into a power pole, splitting it in half. No injuries were reported
One suspect was arrested and another one fled on foot.
There is a $500 reward for the safe return of the dog, who hasn't been found yet.
