JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) - Authorities say a police officer is recovering after crashing into another vehicle while responding to a call in Jacksonville.
Local news outlets report the crash happened on Jacksonville's west side Wednesday night.
The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office reports the driver of the vehicle the office hit has a suspended driver's license. The driver wasn't injured in the crash.
According to police, the officer was making a turn before activating his emergency lights and failed to yield to a car with the right of way. They say alcohol doesn't appear to be a factor in the crash.
The officer's condition wasn't available.
