AUGUSTA, Ga. (AP) - An Augusta restaurant employee has shot and killed a man who was trying to rob the restaurant.
Media outlets report that 24-year-old Cornelius Lamar Harrison of Greensboro, North Carolina, was shot Sunday afternoon at a Subway restaurant.
Richmond County Sgt. Glen Rahn says Harrison and another man entered the Subway with crowbars and attempted to rob the business. During the incident, one of the suspects struck a 14-year-old in the head with a crowbar. A female employee then fired shots at the suspects, striking Harrison in the upper torso.
Harrison was taken to Augusta University Medical Center and pronounced dead at 1:20 p.m. Richmond County Coroner Mark Bowen says an autopsy will be conducted in Atlanta.
The condition of the 14-year-old isn't clear.
The investigation is ongoing.
