MARIETTA, Ga. (AP) - Prosecutors say a 47-year-old man has been sentenced to 25 years in prison for sexually molesting a girl in suburban Atlanta.
Cobb County District Attorney Vic Reynolds announced in an email Thursday that Jon Gregory Craton was found guilty of sexually assaulting a 4-year-old girl while she sat on his lap at a residence in 2014. Reynolds says the girl suffered from nightmares, diagnosed with post-traumatic stress disorder and struggled to sleep along in her own bed after the incident.
Reynolds says Craton warned the girl that she would be in trouble if she told anyone. But the girl ultimately told her grandmother and the child's parents called police.
Craton was convicted Wednesday of aggravated sexual battery.
