FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. (AP) - Authorities have rescued a man from Lake Lanier after his vehicle veered from a road in north Georgia.

Hall County Fire Services spokesman Capt. Zachary Brackett says the man was taken to the Northeast Georgia Medical Center after his vehicle veered from McEver Road Monday.

Footage from local television stations show the submerged vehicle near the riverbank and a bridge. Brackett says the man climbed onto the vehicle's roof and waited for fire officials to reach him.

Details on the extent of the man's injuries were not immediately available.
