PANAMA CITY, Fla. (AP) - A Florida Panhandle man faces up to 30 years in prison for killing his then-girlfriend's baby nearly a decade ago.
The Panama City News Herald reports that 38-year-old Brian Michael Proctor pleaded no contest Wednesday to aggravated manslaughter of a child. His sentencing is scheduled for March 6.
Proctor came forward in June 2016. He admitted that he put his hand over 13-month-old Drake Edward Frazier's mouth in September 2007 to keep him from crying and caused the child's death.
The charge arose out of a 911 phone call from a pastor at a narcotics and alcohol addiction recovery center. Proctor confessed to the pastor and said he wanted to contact the authorities.
