ATLANTA, GA. (AP) - Fulton County prosecutors say a 20-year-old man has been given a 75-year sentence in a DUI crash that killed three people in 2015.
Prosecutors said Monday that Jorge Solis pleaded guilty to several charges including homicide by vehicle, serious injury by vehicle, DUI and possession of alcohol by a minor.
Authorities say Solis drove the wrong way on I-75 on Father's Day 2015 and ran head-on into a car that was carrying a family that was driving to Florida from Illinois to visit relatives. Prosecutors say Solis had a blood-alcohol concentration of .125 and was on probation for another DUI.
Three people were killed, a 3-year-old boy was paralyzed and a 49-year-old man was severely injured.
Prosecutors say Solis is ordered to serve 50 of his 75-year sentence in prison.
