PENSACOLA, Fla. (AP) - A Florida Panhandle man has been sentenced to life in prison for killing his wife.
The Pensacola News Journal (http://goo.gl/VYa5rD) reports that 46-year-old Richard Kline was sentenced Friday. A jury convicted him last month of second-degree murder, following an April trial that resulted in a hung jury.
Authorities say Jolena Kline was found dead in the couple's Myrtle Grove home in October 2014. The medical examiner testified that the woman had been suffocated during a struggle.
Richard Kline was arrested in Tennessee several days after his wife's death. His car was loaded with personal belongings, and security footage recorded Kline withdrawing cash from an ATM around the time of his wife's death.
Kline claimed his wife was alive when he packed up and left the state.
