WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (AP) - A South Florida man has been sentenced to life in prison for fatally shooting another man after a two-year dispute.
The Palm Beach Post reports that 25-year-old Peterson Metellus was convicted of murder Thursday, and a judge immediately handed down his sentence.
Prosecutors say Metellus shot 27-year-old Adrian Wright outside a convenience store in March 2013. Wright's cousin identified Metellus as the shooter, and prosecutors showed jurors surveillance video of the slaying.
A defense attorney argued that the shooter was another man who had a dispute with Wright.
