PENSACOLA, Fla. (AP) - A homeless man has been sentenced to life in prison for fatally beating and stabbing a man in the Florida Panhandle and taking the man's car.
The Pensacola News Journal (https://goo.gl/YrFWbK ) reports that 29-year-old Taikwan Crosby was sentenced Friday. He was convicted in January of second-degree murder.
Authorities say Crosby and 60-year-old James Faucett met at an Escambia County gas station in April 2013. Surveillance video shows the men leave together in Faucett's car. Faucett was killed a short time later, and police found Crosby driving Faucett's car several days later.
Defense attorneys claimed Crosby was defending himself against unwanted sexual advances.
