JONESBORO, Ga. (AP) - Authorities have arrested a man accused of kidnapping his ex-girlfriend's son and hiding him in the trunk of his car.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported Tuesday that (http://bit.ly/28NjQLX ) 52-year-old Charlie Woods was charged with child cruelty, false imprisonment, reckless driving and more.

Clayton County Police Sgt. Ashanti Marbury says a woman walking by a driver services office saw the trunk of a vehicle repeatedly pop open and noticed that a young boy was inside of it. Authorities say the woman helped the boy out of the trunk and waited for the driver to return.

Marbury says Woods tried driving away when he noticed the boy wasn't in the trunk and was taken into custody. Woods denied kidnapping the boy as he was walked to a police car.
