TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) – Governor Rick Scott announces the appointment of Belvin Perry Jr. to the Florida Agriculture and Mechanical University Board of Trustees.
Perry currently serves as a member of the Florida A&M University College of Law Board of Visitors and the 100 Black Men of Orlando Inc. The 66 year old, is an attorney with Morgan and Morgan PA. Perry previously served as the chief judge in Florida’s Ninth Judicial Circuit. As a Circuit Court Judge, Perry presided over the case "State of Florida v. Casey Marie Anthony", in which Anthony was charged in the death of her daughter.
Perry succeeds Belinda Shannon for a term beginning March 24, 2016, and ending January 6, 2021.
The appointment is subject to confirmation by the Florida Senate.
