JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) - Police say a 6-year-old girl drowned in a pool at a Jacksonville apartment complex.
Jacksonville Sheriff's Sgt. Jay Farhat tells The Florida Times-Union (http://bit.ly/2azSDw8 ) the girl was being supervised by another child who couldn't swim. She went underwater around 5 p.m. Wednesday and didn't resurface.
Farhat says investigators are looking for witnesses who may have seen what happened.
The child's parents were notified and are cooperating with the investigation.
Police haven't released the girl's name.
No further details were immediately available.
