DECATUR, Ga. (AP) - A man accused of killing three homeless men and a woman has pleaded guilty to murder and other charges in two of the deaths outside Atlanta.
Thirty-five-year-old Aeman Presley entered the pleas Monday in DeKalb County Superior Court. He received two consecutive life sentences without parole.
DeKalb prosecutors were seeking the death penalty against Presley in the December 2014 fatal shooting of hairdresser Karen Pearce. They also charged him in the September 2014 killing of Calvin Gholston, who was sleeping outside.
Presley still faces multiple charges in neighboring Fulton County, including murder and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon in the shootings of two homeless men - Dorian Jenkins and Tommy Mims - as they slept outside in November 2014. Prosecutors are seeking the death penalty in that pending case.
