SUFFOLK COUNTY, Mass. (WTXL) - Text messages sent by Aaron Hernandez are the focus of a murder trial dispute.
Attorneys for the former New England Patriots star are trying to suppress the text messages that may link Hernandez to two murders.
A hearing was held at the Suffolk County Superior Court in Massachusetts Tuesday.
The former NFL player is accused in a 2012 drive-by shooting that left two Boston men dead.
The man who Hernandez exchanged those text messages with, Alexander Bradley, is a key prosecution witness.
Bradley claims he was with Hernandez at the time of the shootings and that the former Patriots player also shot him to keep him from testifying.
The trial is set to begin February 13th.
Hernandez is currently serving a life sentence without parole, for the murder of Odin Lloyd.
