(AP) - Ford announced the recall of 53,000 F-250 pickup trucks from model year 2017 because they could roll away even when in park, the Associated Press reported.
The issue appears to be the result of a "manufacturing error," according to Ford. Owners are being told to always engage the parking brake until dealers can replace the defective parts.
This recall is specific to F-250s with the 6.2 liter engine that were built a plant in Kentucky since October 2015. The company said they are not aware of any accidents or injuries as a result of this issue.
