FORT PIERCE, FL. (AP) - A Florida man has been sentenced to more than seven years in prison for manufacturing hash oil in his apartment, which was the scene of an explosion late last year.

U.S. District Judge Kenneth Marra imposed the sentence Friday in Fort Pierce federal court on 31-year-old Daniel Paul Vranich. Vranich previously pleaded guilty to endangering human life while making a controlled substance and firearms possession during a drug trafficking crime.

The explosion happened Dec. 30 in Vranich's apartment in Stuart. Authorities found marijuana, containers of hash oil, a large vacuum drying oven, empty butane cans, digital scales and other drug trafficking paraphernalia. Also found was a .45-caliber handgun.

Vranich will be on probation for three years after his prison release.
