The National Weather Service in Miami has issued a

* Urban and Small Stream Flood Advisory for...

Northern Broward County in southeastern Florida...

Southeastern Palm Beach County in southeastern Florida...

* Until 215 PM EST.

* At 1218 PM EST, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to

thunderstorms. This will cause urban and small stream flooding in

the advisory area. Over two inches of rain have already fallen in

parts of Boca Raton since midnight.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...

Boca Raton, Deerfield Beach, Highland Beach and Fau South Campus.

Additional rainfall of 1 to 2 inches is expected over the area

through the afternoon.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of canals

and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well

as other drainage areas and low lying spots.
