CANTON, Ga. (AP) - A former substitute teacher has been arrested and charged with assault after allegedly having sex with two teenage students.
Multiple news agencies report that 38-year-old Laura Rich was arrested Friday and charged with two counts of sexual assault by a teacher.
Cherokee County Sheriff's spokesman Jay Baker says Rich is accused of having sex with a 16-year-old and an 18-year-old at her home in Acworth on separate occasions last year, when she began substitute teaching at Ace Academy in Canton.
School district spokeswoman Barbara Jacoby says her last day as a substitute teacher was in August, and she's no longer permitted to work as a substitute teacher in the district.
It's unclear if Rich has an attorney.
