AUSTELL, Ga. (AP) — Police outside Atlanta say a 16-year-old boy has died after he was struck by a car while trying to cross a street.
Cobb County police say the crash happened shortly after 9 a.m. Tuesday near South Cobb High School in the Austell area.
Police say their preliminary investigation found that the boy stepped into the path of a Plymouth Neon, which was northbound on Austell Road. Police say the teen was attempting to cross the road outside of a crosswalk.
Police say the boy died early Wednesday.
