DESTIN, Fla. (AP) - City council on Monday will begin discussing the feasibility about possibly building a high school in Destin.

Councilwoman Prebble Ramswell tells the Northwest Florida Daily News (http://goo.gl/ZpelLp ) that there are roughly 614 students who are attending high school and also have a Destin address. Currently they attend either Fort Walton Beach or Niceville high schools.

Ramswell said she is open to a district-run magnet school or a charter school.

Councilman Chatham Morgan adds that with the property tax revenue collected that goes to support the Destin School District, it is under-represented in terms of the number of schools it has.
