NAVARRE, Fla. (AP) - Authorities say a 19-year-old Florida Panhandle woman was arrested after a child she was caring for spent several hours inside a hot car and died.
The Pensacola News Journal (http://on.pnj.com/2a79BAl ) reports surveillance video showed the 3-year-old boy getting into a vehicle parked in the driveway of a home in Navarre on Friday.
Santa Rosa Sheriff's officials say a resident found the boy about three hours later. He was taken to a hospital and placed on a ventilator, but died.
One of the home's residents told investigators Montana Jackson was caring for the boy. She was arrested on child neglect charges. Officials say the charges may be upgraded to aggravated manslaughter.
The boy's name hasn't been released. Jackson is in jail.
Records don't indicate whether she has a lawyer.
