DECATUR COUNTY, GA -- Officials in Decatur County are continuing to crackdown on illegal dumping.
Their latest warning: garbage cans at city parks are not meant for your household trash.
The warning comes after deputies found trash cans overflowing at the Earle May Boat Basin. Officials say they dug through the 8 bags of trash and found several pieces of mail and tax information which led them right to the person responsible.
That person did receive a ticket which officials say includes a mandatory court appearance, not just a fine.
Authorities say if you do have trash, make use of city and county landfills.
